About FROG Academy in Mesquite
We are an early childhood educational center in Mesquite, caring for children from birth to 12 years old. We provide a range of age-appropriate resources and activities to encourage their development right up until they are ready to enroll in school.

Our philosophy is based on learning and creativity. By blending indoor and outdoor classrooms and environments in a home-away-from-home setting, we create a space where children feel empowered and ready to learn.

Who We Are
FROG Academy was founded in Garland in 2019 by Vachele Franklin, who left her full-time teaching job to create a nurturing space for early learning. We believe our innovative approach gives children a bright and positive start in life as we encourage exploration, discovery, and emotional intelligence.
Our mission is to impact our community through building a solid foundation by providing an excellent, safe, nurturing, and high-quality education in a loving Christian environment where all children are encouraged to develop at their own pace in an atmosphere that promotes scholarly excellence.

The FROG Academy family includes a diverse team of passionate educators who are committed to your child’s success.
Vachele Franklin
Mrs. Franklin is the Executive Director and Founder of FROG Academy. With over 25 years of experience in early childhood education, she leads with deep expertise, heartfelt vision, and an unwavering commitment to excellence that transforms lives. A proud graduate of the University of North Texas at Dallas, Mrs. Franklin holds two Master’s degrees in Education, as well as a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas. Her passion lies in helping children, families, and educators leap into their God-given purpose.
Mei-Lin Gainey
Ms. Gainey is the director of FROG Academy of Creek Crossing. She graduated from the University of North Texas in 2021 with her bachelor degree in Criminal Justice. She continues to advance in her educational studies in a variety of ways. She enjoys attending developmental workshops and conferences throughout the year to gain further knowledge of childcare to continue to learn and develop.
Vanessa Williams

Makayla Warren
Ms. Warren is a floater at FROG Academy of Creek Crossing. She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at East Texas A&M and plans to continue her education with a Graduate Certification in STEM Education. While she mainly works during the summer and winter seasons, Ms. Warren enjoys staying connected year-round by completing online trainings alongside her studies. She is passionate about learning and loves finding new ways to support children’s growth and curiosity in the classroom.
Amaiya Thomas
Ms. Thomas is the toddler teacher at FROG Academy of Creek Crossing. She has a strong passion for working with young children and supporting their early development. She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree at Texas Woman’s University and plans to continue expanding her education in the field. Amaiya actively attends developmental trainings to gain additional knowledge and hands-on experience, helping her grow as an early childhood professional.
Ahkia Pickron
Ms. Pickron is a passionate Two-Year-Old teacher at FROG Academy of Creek Crossing. After earning her Child Development Associate credential from Camp Fire First Texas in 2024, she's been committed to continuous learning. You can often find her at childcare development conferences, always looking for new ways to grow and improve her teaching skills.
Taylor Grant
Ms. Grant is a dedicated teacher at FROG Academy of Creek Crossing. She has a bachelor’s degree in Education. She loves helping others and works with different age groups. She enjoys learning and is actively learning Spanish and French. She would like to prepare students as best and much as possible for school after FROG Academy.

Activities
Activities
Merging teaching and childcare, we offer a variety of programs, including care for infants and toddlers, preschool, pre-kindergarten, and after-school care. We also provide summer camps for children aged 6 to 12 years.
We believe that it is never too early to start learning and that it is vital to always present opportunities for children to learn and grow as soon as they start at our center. We hone in on what makes early education a success and create a learning program that allows our children to enter school seamlessly.
